Create Customer

Customer can be created in one of the following ways:

  • From Customers console
  • On-the-fly from Plan console
  • On-the-fly from Schedule console 
  • Bulk import from CSV file (Import console)
  • Bulk import from Google Contact (Integrate console)

 

Customer Console: Create customer

1) Click on Tools gear icon on top right corner

2) Select Customer console from the left navigation

3) Click Add Customer button

  • Customer Name
    • Required field
  • Street Address
    • Required field
    • Click on Validate Location button to verify accuracy of geocoding of you entered address. You should always validate the accuracy of GPS when you add or edit location. You can override the location Geocode by dragging the blue marker
  • Contact Name, Phone Fields
    • Optional but recommended fields. Contact Name and Phone fields are used by mobile app for direct-dialing customer with single click. It may also be used for SMS/IVR notifications
  • Email
    • Optional field
  • Customer Category
    • Optional but recommended field. This will aid during Optimization as you will be able to select customer types for planning
  • Preferred Worker
    • Optional field. If you always assign specific worker to a customer, then you may utilize this field. When creating an order from Plan console, system will automatically assign your preferred worker when you create order for this customer.
  • Alert for Field Worker
    • Optional but recommended field. If customer has specific instructions that must be followed for each order, then you may utilize this field. When creating an order from Plan console, system will automatically attach this field with each order you create for this customer
  • Save, Save+Unscheduled buttons
    • You may simply create this customer by clicking on Save button
    • Or create an associated unscheduled order while creating this customer by clicking on +Unscheduled button. This will not only create new customer but also create an order for this customer. 
      • You can find this unscheduled order under the Find console 

Note: Once the customer is created, system will also create an associated one Location and One Contact. You can edit the customer via the Edit button next to the customer name to update customer details, locations, and contact information. You can also add additional locations and/or contacts to this customer via Edit. Please refer to Edit & Delete Customer section of our tutorial for details

 

Plan Console: Create customer on-the-fly

Bulk import from CSV file

You have two options when importing customers from CSV file (Import console)

  • Create Customer Only
    • Use Customer option and Customer.csv template
    • This will create customer for each row entry in the csv file
  • Create Customer and Order
    • Use Customer+Order option and CustomerAndOrder.csv template
    • This will create customer and an order for each row entry in the csv file
    • You may create an unscheduled or scheduled order depending on parameters passed. Please refer to Readme file when you download CSV import templates
